The first public screening of the film was at the Hong Kong Baptist University on 7 April 2017 in an event organized by the Centre for Film and Moving Image Research (FMIR) of the Academy of Film. In this lecture-seminar, I talked about Life-world Series (2017) in terms of phenomenalist-realist film aesthetics.

A result of my cinematic experimentations on the realist film theory of Siegfried Kracauer, Life-world Series (2017), which is a collection of ten short films shot in Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, mainland China, and the USA, is a part of my doctoral dissertation.
It was also screened – following a seminar titled ‘Investigating Kracauerian Cinematic Realism through Life-world Series (Joni Gutierrez, 2017)’ conducted by the filmmaker/researcher – at the University of the Philippines Film Institute (UPFI) on 5 October 2017. It was mounted as a multi-screen video installation at the ASEANnale held in the Philippines on 28 February to 2 March 2018.
