The Life-world Series began as part of my Ph.D. dissertation, rooted in the idea of exploring the Lebenswelt—the lived, immediate world through cinematic realism. Each film in the series invites viewers to pause and engage with familiar scenes in a new way, turning the ordinary into meditative experiences that encourage reflection. Study 25 continued this exploration by focusing on the act of a Washington State ferry docking at the Vashon Island terminal.
Where Human Meets AI: Crafting the Narrative
One of the most enriching aspects of making Study 25 was incorporating AI into the process. For this film, I turned to ChatGPT to help craft the reflective text for the subtitles.
